Admiral Hyman Rickover
Born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1921, Bud Fensterwald is remembered as a lawyer, entrepreneur, warrior, world traveler and family patriarch. He was spunky, loyal, generous, progressive, free spirited, creative and much more.
Bud was interested in everything nautical, from Naval vessels to steam launches. He was an avid cyclist, tennis player and tinkerer. He loved politics with a passion, but he loved the Constitution more. He was an excellent and creative attorney, but he hated the fact that the profession had become increasingly a business. He doted over the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels that he and Patty Fensterwald raised. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and helped create a successful business destined to span three generations.
Bud Fensterwald left a long and lasting legacy. Active in politics, Bud was a loyal and active Democrat for over 50 years and served three United States Senators. He helped create a small business that has thrived for over 45 years. He had a significant impact on several important laws, including the 23rd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the 1962 Federal Food and Drug Amendments, the Freedom of Information/Privacy Acts and the Mariine Mammal Protection Act. As a private attorney, he represented many noteworthy clients, including James McCord, James Earl Ray and Lyndon LaRouche. He founded the Assassination Archive and Research Center, the premier authority on political assassinations. Most importantly, he served as patriarch over a successful and growing family of four children and step children, plus numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
